bengali bbq chicken

a classic from nabela's childhood, this recipe fuses bengali flavors with american barbeque.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 pounds of chicken

  • 2 tablespoons chili powder

  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder

  • a sprinkle of ginger powder

  • 4 tablespoons ketchup

  • half of a lemon juice

  • 1/4 cup olive or avocado oil

  • salt and pepper to taste

HOW I MAKE IT:

PREP: Wash, clean and dry 2 pounds of raw chicken to prepare it for seasoning. Cut diagonal slits into each piece of chicken to help marinate the chicken more thoroughly.

COOK: Add salt, pepper, chili powder, garlic powder, ginger powder, lemon juice and your oil to the washed and dry chicken.

Incorporate my family's secret ingredient into your mix. My parents have been working on this recipe since they first immigrated to America and the ingredient that has stay consistent through all of these years and has never let them down, was Ketchup. Add about 4 tablespoons and finish your marinade.

Be sure to cover and refrigerate your chicken for 2-3 hours for the most flavorful bbq chicken.

After the chicken is fully marinade, grill your chicken on medium heat. For about 28 minutes, turn your chicken every 3-4 minutes or until cooked completely!

Remove from the grill and serve by itself or paired with your favorite side!
